Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1959 Frank Capra Comedy A HOLE IN THE HEAD, based on the play by Arnold Schulman and starring Frank Sinatra, Edward G. Robinson, Eleanor Parker, Carolyn Jones, Thelma Ritter, Keenan Wynn, Joi Lansing, Connie Sawyer and Eddie Hodges.
Widower Tony is trying to keep a small Miami hotel afloat while raising a 12-year-old son. He’s forced to ask his harried brother Mario for help, but he’ll only bail Tony out if he quits his bohemian lifestyle and marries a sensible woman.
Poster art by Spencer Douglass Crockwell (1904 – 1968). An American commercial artist and experimental filmmaker, making animated films with his “panstereo” viewing camera. He was most famous for his illustrations and advertisements for The Saturday Evening Post and for murals and posters for the Works Progress Administration. He produced film posters for 20th Century Fox including “Keys of the Kingdom” (1944) and “The Snake Pit” (1948) among others and “The Yearling” for MGM.
