Original 1949 British 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Double-Sided Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1948 Charles Barton Horror Comedy ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET THE GHOSTS starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Lon Chaney Jr., Bela Lugosi, Glenn Strange, Lenore Aubert and Jane Randolph.
The film features Count Dracula (Lugosi) who has become partners with Dr. Sandra Mornay (Aubert), as Dracula requires a “simple, pliable” brain to reactivate Frankenstein’s monster (Strange). Dracula discovers that the “ideal” brain belongs to Wilbur Grey (Costello) who is wooed by Mornay to the operating table, despite the warnings of Lawrence Talbot (Chaney Jr.).
On the reverse is the 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1949 John Harlow Comedy OLD MOTHER RILEY’S NEW VENTURE starring Arthur Lucan, Kitty McShane, Chili Bouchier and Sebastian Cabot.
Old Mother Riley becomes manager of a hotel – stolen diamonds, murder and pie fights follow.
