He pursued a successful career in graphic design at some point becoming chief assistant to F.H. K. Henrion, a celebrated poster and exhibition designer and founding father of modern European corporate identity. He was freelance since 1947, his major client being the Post Office Savings Bank. In the late forties and early fifties, he was one of the most prolific British poster designers.
