BLACK ROBE

Original Polish 24 inch x 34 inch Poster for the 1991 Bruce Beresford Drama BLACK ROBE, based on the novel by Brian Moore and starring Lothaire Bluteau, August Schellenberg, Aden Young and Sandrine Holt.

In the 17th century, a Jesuit missionary nicknamed Black Robe by the natives and his small party of companions try reaching the Huron tribe in Canada all the while facing mistrust, Iroquois warring parties and harsh winter conditions.

Poster art by Andrzej Pagowski. Born in 1953, Pagowski is a graduate of the University of Fine Arts in Poznan. He gained his diploma under the famous poster designer Waldemar Swierzy. He is the author of over 1,500 posters produced since 1977 in Poland and abroad. In addition, he deals with book and press illustration, he is the author of covers for record publishing houses, theatrical and television sets, screenplays of films and music videos
