BLANCHE

Original 1975 Danish 24 1/2 inch x 33 1/2 inch Poster for 1971 Walerian Borowczyk Historical Drama BLANCHE, based on the poem “Mazepa” by Juliusz Slowacki and starring Michel Simon, Georges Wilson, Jacques Perrin and Ligia Branice.

Blanche is set in 13th-century France where Simon plays an almost senile baron with a simple but beautiful young wife Blanche who everyone, including the King, lusts after. There is a lecherous page and a handsome but rather vacant lover too, and the film is a kind of fairytale dance of death where tragedy is probable, even if a happy outcome isn’t entirely out of the question.

The poster is in very good condition with one horizontal fold.
