Original British 17 inch x 11 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1934 Victor Saville Biographical Drama THE IRON DUKE starring George Arliss as The Duke of Wellington, Ellaline Terriss, Gladys Cooper, A.E. Matthews, Alan Aynesworth as Louis XVIII, Lesley Wareing, Emlyn Williams, Felix Aylmer and Gibb McLaughlin.

Events in the life of the Duke of Wellington between 1815 and 1816, encompassing the Congress of Vienna, the Battle of Waterloo and the subsequent Treaty of Paris, and how a French Duchess schemes against the Duke’s plans for France by making a scandal of his friendship with a young married English woman.

Trade advertisements are colourful posters aimed at cinema managers, which were either slipped in, or part of, the weekly film trade journals which were available to them by subscription but were not sold to the general public. Most were designed to be pulled out, and some were attached by staples. Most have the date in tiny letters in one of the top corners.

The Advertisement is in very good condition with a strip of surface paper loss down the left where the advert has been removed from the trade magazine.
