Original circa 1860 14 inch x 10 1/2 inch Steel Hand Coloured Engraving titled ISLANDS IN THE ATLANTIC.

Map drawn and engraved by John Rapkin (1815-1876). Rapkin’s style is elegant and clear and considerable geographical detail and nomenclature is shown on the maps.

Illustrations drawn and engraved by Henry Winkles (1801 – 1860). Henry Winkles was an English architectural illustrator, engraver and printer, who, together with Karl Ludwig Frommel founded the first studio for steel engraving in Germany.
