Original British 27 inch x 40 inch 1-Sheet Poster for the 1955 Alexander Mackendrick Ealing Studios Comedy THE LADYKILLERS, written by William Rose and starring Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers, Herbert Lom, Cecil Parker, Danny Green, Katie Johnson, Jack Warner, Frankie Howerd, Kenneth Connor and Philip Stainton.
Ealing’s last comic masterpiece, in which a gang of ill-matched bankroll thieves lodge in a genteel house near King’s Cross railway station, to be thwarted by their aged innocent landlady (Katie Johnson), and meet sudden ends.

”Having worked as a designer for various advertising agencies in the 1930s, Mount joined the Ministry of Information at the outbreak of the Second World War. During the war years he worked with designer Eileen Evans, producing many posters for campaigns varying from security and salvage to road safety and the renowned anti-VD campaign of 1943-44.
The Mount/Evans studio in the 1950s and 60s, became closely associated with the post-war Central Office of Information, producing characteristically neat and precise designs for a wide variety of government agencies. Mount also designed the poster for the British comedy film The Ladykillers (1955) starring Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers.

The poster is in good to very good folded condition with tape marks in all corners, at either end of the central horizontal fold and at the top of the vertical fold
