Original 9 1/2 inch x 7 1/2 inch Still of ALEC GUINNESS, STANLEY HOLLOWAY and visitor FREDDIE MILLS on the set for the 1951 Charles Crichton Classic Ealing Studios Comedy THE LAVENDER HILL MOB, with a screenplay by T.E.B. Clarke.

Tibby Clarke won an Oscar for his screenplay and it was the 1951 British Film Academy’s Best Film. This classic comedy about a meek bank clerk who masterminds a bullion heist is one of the best in Ealing’s output.

Freddie Mills won the World Light heavyweight Boxing Championship in 1948 after defeating Gus Lesnevich in 1948.
