The artworks for METROPOLIS & THE LOST WORLD are by Theo Matejko (1893 – 1946). Painter, draughtsman and graphic designer During World War I he became a war correspondent for the Leipziger Illustrierte Zeitung and later gained considerable attention with his poster designs for various press organizations, theartres, film companies and political parties. In 1920 he moved from Vienna to Berlin, where he worked as a poster designer and draughtsman for the Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung In the early twenties he produced most of his huge oeuvre for Ufa.

The artworks for FAUST & MANON LESCAUT are by Julius Kupfer Sachs. A busy commercial artist who was popular in the film industry in the 1920s and 1930s. Almost all of his early work was commissioned by UFA (Universum Film AG). Characteristic are his portrayals of people, placing a particularly strong emphasis on the face shapes. His strength was the expressive, realistic drawing, which he mastered perfectly.

The artworks for VARIETY, HE WHO GETS SLAPPED, THREE CUCKOO CLOCKS, JEALOUSY, A WALTZ-DREAM, MEIN FREUND DER CHAUFFEUR, SOMEBODY’S SON & DIE ZWEI UND DIE DAME are by Wolfgang Ortmann (1885 – 1969). A German draughtsman, painter and sculptor who became famous for his music sheet covers.

The magazine is in very good condition. The thick cover is loose.
