The fate of an evil tongue; seven putti stand around an anvil on which they hammer a tongue.
Print made by Nicoletto da Modena (1490-1569)
Lettered in capitals ‘Lingua pravorum peribit’ and signed ‘NIC MUT’ on a pilaster.
Nicoletto da Modena was an Italian Renaissance artist, whose work is found in the first decades of the 16th century.
The engraving is in very good condition considering its age. There is a piece out of the left edge and a crease upper left. The engraving itself is in fine condition.
