Original British 9 1/2 inch x 7 1/2 inch Still of a 19th Century Steam Engine used in the 1947 Charles Frend Ealing Studios Drama THE LOVES OF JOANNA GODDEN, written by H.E. Bates from the novel by Sheila Kaye Smith.

Produced by Michael Balcon with music by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Location was an area of common land reputed to have been given to the town of Lydd on Romney Marsh in Kent by Alfred the Great for beating off an invasion of Danes in the 9th century. All Saints Parish Church is visible in the background.

The still is in very good condition with minor surface marks.
