Original Italian 13 inch x 30 inch Locandina Poster for the 1962 William Castle Hammer Horror Movie THE OLD DARK HOUSE, based on the novel by J.B. Priestley and starring Tom Poston, Janette Scott, Robert Morley, Joyce Grenfell, Mervyn Johns and Fenella Fielding.

This chilling comedy chronicles the spooky exploits of a Yankee car salesman working in London who sets out to deliver a car to a remote Welsh estate. Unfortunately he discovers the owner dead. As the grim night slowly passes, the remaining family members are bumped off at appallingly regular intervals.

The poster art is by Carlantonio Longi (1921-1980). Longi was born in Livorno and attended the Institute of Art in Florence as a pupil of Gianni Vagnetti. He moved to Rome and continued his studies at the art school and the Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of Carlo Siviero. A well-known painter, illustrator and poster designer producing some of the most famous films of Italian and international cinema such as “Senso” by Luchino Visconti, “Uccellacci and Uccellini” by Pier Paolo Pasolini, “Lo Sceicco Bianco” by Federico Fellini and “The Wizard of Oz” by Victor Fleming.

The poster is in very good condition with one horizontal fold, minor edge tears, a pinhole in each corner and an Italian stamp just above the title
