William Monk (1863 – 1937) was a painter and etcher of architectural scenes and landscapes. He was born born in Chester and studied at Antwerp Academy. He exhibited at the RA RE and IS and the Society of Graver Printers in Colour. Elected ARE 1894 RE 1899. He executed subjects in Venice and New York, and he founded and worked with The London Almanac for 35 years.
Etched by Robert Kent Thomas (1816 – 1884).
Drawn by Thomas Graham Jackson (1835 – 1924) Architect.
The engraving is in very good condition a one inch tear at the bottom edge and minor age-related defects.
