PINK STRING AND SEALING WAX
Original 9 1/2 inch x 7 3/4 inch Black and White Portrait of GOOGIE WITHERS in the 1945 Robert Hamer Ealing Studios Drama PINK STRING AND SEALING WAX, based on the play by Roland Pertwee.
Robert Hamer’s first full-length film was a late Victorian melodrama, with a puritanical father, a rebellious son, a highly-sexed publican’s wife and a poisoned husband. Googie Withers made the most of her part as the villainess, and the film exhibited the occasional baroque touch.
The portrait is in very good condition with minor surface marks.
