PINK STRING AND SEALING WAX
Original 9 3/4 inch x 7 3/4 inch Black and White Portrait of MERVYN JOHNS in the 1945 Robert Hamer Ealing Studios Drama PINK STRING AND SEALING WAX, based on the play by Roland Pertwee
Pink String and Sealing Wax explores the clash between two very different worlds in Victorian Brighton: the privileged, pious household of respected chemist and Public Analyst Edward Sutton (Mervyn Johns), who rules his family with self-righteous cruelty, and the seedy underworld occupied by pub landlord’s wife Pearl (Googie Withers), her brutal, alcoholic husband, Joe (Garry Marsh), and her lover, minor villain Dan (John Carol).
The portrait is in very good condition with minor surface marks
