Original 1942 British 10 inch x 8 inch Set of 8 Front-of-House Stills (Lobby Cards) for the 1940 Robert Stevenson Ealing Studios (CAPAD) Drama RETURN TO YESTERDAY, based on the play ‘Goodness, How Sad’ by Robert Morley and starring Clive Brook, Anna Lee, Dame May Whitty, Hartley Power, Milton Rosmer, David Tree, Arthur Margetson, Olga Lindo, Garry Marsh, Elliot Mason, O.B. Clarence, Frank Pettingell, David Horne and Wally Patch.
Film star Robert Maine, on his way back to America, decides to stop off at a little English seaside town in an attempt to recapture the happiness of his youth.
The stills are in very good condition. Each still has has an embossed stamp in the lower right corner “ASSOCIATED BRITISH FILM DISTRIBUTORS LTD PRINTED BEFORE JANUARY 26th 1942” plus a small “Released by Renown Pictures” also in the lower right corner – the original stills were used for the 1944 re-release.
