Perhaps the best of the mid-1980’s yuppie-in-peril movies, sees strait-laced business man Daniels skip a restaurant without paying his bill only to be picked up by Louise Brooks lookalike Lulu (Griffith) and taken on a wild weekend of frantic activity and panic. From its kooky, offbeat beginnings to its strangely romantic middle-section then on to its frightening last third as Lulu’s psychotic ex-husband (Liotta) descends upon the couple like fury, the film is a fantasy of the top rank.
