Original 1881 5 7/8 inch x 7 1/8 inch etching titled THE TRIO.
The trio of musicians; two figures seated, one playing the bagpipes and the other a fiddle, a third standing behind them playing a flute, table before them with a tankard upon it, dresser and a window beyond at left.
Etched by Adolphe Lalauze (1838 – 1906). Designer, watercolourist and etcher who worked in Paris. He won various awards and was made a knight of the Legion of Honour.
After a painting by Erskine Nicol (1825 – 1904). A Scottish figure and genre painter.
