Original 1831 11 3/4 inch x 9 inch Engraving titled WOODEN GABLE. RUE DES LINGUE, ABBEVILLE
Printed by Charles Joseph Hullmandel. Major lithographic printer and publisher in London, where born to French parents, and trained as an artist. Met Alois Senefelder in Munich in 1817 and opened his own press in London in 1818. He was responsible for numerous technical developments, including lithotint and colour printing. In partnership with Joseph Fowell Walton from about 1845.
Drawn by James Duffield Harding (1798 – 1863). Draughtsman, watercolourist, topographer, lithographer, etcher and landscape painter; born at Deptford, son of an engraver and drawing master.
Published in March 1831 by Augstus Pugin, 105 Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury, London
The engraving is in good condition with general age-related foxing and minor defects from handling. Reverse side blank.
