AMAZING MR. CALLAGHAN

Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1955 Willy Rozier Crime Drama THE AMAZING MR. CALLAGHAN (A TOI DE JOUER… CALLAGHAN!!!), based on the novel “Sorry You Have Been Troubled” by Peter Cheyney and starring Tony Wright, Lysiane Rey, Colette Ripert, Paul Cambo, Robert Berri, Yorick Royan, Roger Blin and Martine Alexis.

A ship, La Circé, has sunk and it might possibly be criminal . The vessel belongs to Storata ,who asks the insurance company for a hundred million Francs .Callaghan is working for them and he investigates on dry land and on the sea. The brilliant detective discovers that Storata has scuttled his ship himself to swindle insurance.

Poster art by Guy Gerard Noel (!912 – 1994). A French cinema poster designer of all genres, lithographer and painter. He produced several posters for Hammer films including “Dracula”, “The Mummy”, “Curse of the Werewolf” and many others, often making more than one design for each film. He also produced posters for the singers and musicians of the firm Pathé-Marconi.

The poster is in good to very good folded condition with slight separation at the cross folds and small pieces out of the upper corners
