Original British 22 inch x 28 inch Half Sheet Poster for the 1952 George More O’Ferrall RAF War Movie ANGELS ONE FIVE, based on an original story by Pelham Groom and starring Jack Hawkins, Michael Denison, John Gregson, Cyril Raymond, Humphrey Lestocq, Ronald Adam, Dulcie Gray, Veronica Hurst, Amy Veness, Philip Stainton, Terence Longdon, Harold Siddons, Vida Hope, Marianne Stone, Geoffrey Keen, Harry Locke, Sam Kydd, Peter Jones, Harry Fowler, Russell Waters, Victor Maddern and Ambrosine Phillpotts.

Honest documentary-style depiction of the WWII air war during ‘Britain’s finest hour’ and how the beleagured RAF managed to fight off the might of the Luftwaffe despite overwhelming German air power. Filmed mainly at RAF Kenley and the real ’11 Group’ operations block at RAF Uxbridge.

Harold Forster was responsible for pre-war Black Magic chocolate illustrations, and the famous ‘Keep Mum, She’s Not So Dumb’ poster. He designed full-colour lithographic posters, and was personally commissioned to do work for the Ministry of Information by its art director Edwin Embleton.

The poster, on heavyweight paper, is in good to very good condition with one central vertical fold and corner pinholes. The reverse has somewhat darkened but this does not affect the front apart from very thin strips in the top and bottom borders.
