Original U.S. 27 inch x 41 inch 1-Sheet Poster for the 1987 Robert Altman, Bruce Beresford, Bill Bryden, Jean-Luc Godard, Derek Jarman, Franc Roddam, Nicolas Roeg, Ken Russell, Charles Sturridge & Julien Temple Musical Drama ARIA starring Theresa Russell, Buck Henry, Beverly D’Angelo, Elizabeth Hurley, Bridget Fonda, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Sophie Ward.

Ten short pieces directed by ten different directors. Each short uses an aria as soundtrack/sound (Vivaldi, Bach, Wagner), and is an interpretation of the particular aria.

Poster design by Richard Bird (1948 – 1993). Born in Kenya in 1948 Bird studied at the Brighton College of Art in 1968 and in the mid-1980s he set up his own consultancy, taking on a wide variety of work for film and theatre. Among the posters he produced for the cinema were Jack Clayton’s The Passion of Judith Hearne, John Schlesinger’s The Falcon and the Snowman and Charles Sturridge’s A Handful of Dust.

The poster is in very good unfolded (rolled) condition with a couple of nicks in the bottom border.
