AUER DULT
£260.00
Original 1957 German 23 1/2 inch x 34 inch Poster for the 1957 Auer Dult traditional market fair in MAIDULT, MUNICH.
The Auer Dult is a traditional market in Munich, first held in 1310. The name “Dult” is derived from an old german word meaning “observance”, because it was originally a fair with a now forgotten ecclesiasistical celebration. “Auer” refers to its location in Munich’s borough “Au”.
There are three Dult-Events a year: the Maidult in spring, the Jakobidult in summer and the Kirchweihdult in autumn.
Poster design by Ernst Kösslinger (1926 – 2020). A graphic art and designer from Munich.
The poster is in very good unfolded (rolled) condition with a small tear at the bottom edge.
