Circa 1890 French 9 3/4 inch x 12 5/8 inch Hard Cover Illustrated Book AUX RIVES D’OR

34 pages of colour and black and white illustrations (blank on the reverse) from the Mediterranean coast around Marseille by Maurice Charles Mathieu Bonvoisin (a.k.a. MARS) (1849 – 1912). A Belgian draughtsman, illustrator and watercolourist. He provided numerous caricatures to the satirical newspaper Le Charivari and topical drawings to major Parisian illustrated newspapers such as La Vie elegant, Le Monde illustrated and L’Illustration. He also became a regular contributor to newspapers like The Graphic and Lady’s Pictorial.

The book is in good condition with the cover becoming almost detached and some foxing.
