2 Original Japanese 10 inch x 8 inch Black & White Stills for the 1958 Keisuke Kinoshita Drama THE BALLAD OF THE NARAYAMA (NARAYAMA BUSHIKO), based on stories by Shichirô Fukazawa and starring Kinuyo Tanaka, Teiji Takahashi, Yûko Mochizuki, Yûnosuke Itô and Danko Ichikawa.

A kabuki theatre-inflected story about a poor village whose people have to be carried to a nearby mountain to die once they get old.

The stills, on doubleweight paper, are in very good condition each with the a piece of paper with the title stuck in one of the lower corners.
