Original U.S. 12 3/4 inch x 25 inch Double-Sided MGM Advertisment for the 1926 Fred Niblo Adventure BEN-HUR: A TALE OF THE CHRIST, based on the book by General Lew Wallace and starring Ramon Novarro, Francis X. Bushman, May McAvoy, Betty Bronson, Claire McDowell, Kathleen Key, Carmel Myers and Nigel De Brulier.

Silent film classic of Lew Wallace’s bestseller, with Novarro as Judah, the head of a noble Jewish family at the time of Christ, and Bushman as Messala, his friend and Roman governor. After opposing Messala, Judah’s family is thrown into jail and he becomes a galley slave. Finally he avenges himself on Messala in the spectacular chariot race and rediscovers his family.

The advert is in fine condition with one vertical fold. The advertisement has been removed from a hardbound book entitled “MGM’s Parade of Hits’. Unfortunately the cover was so distressed that the advertisements needed to be removed to avoid staining.
