Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Double-Sided Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1956 Valentine Davies Biographical Musical Drama THE BENNY GOODMAN STORY starring Steve Allen, Donna Reed, Berta Gersten, Barry Truex, Hy Averback, Sammy Davis Sr., Jack Kruschen, Harry James and Gene Krupa.

The young Benny Goodman is taught clarinet by a Chicago music professor. He is advised by bandleader Kid Ory to play whichever kind of music he likes best, but to make a living, Benny begins by joining the Ben Pollack traveling band.

”Having worked as a designer for various advertising agencies in the 1930s, Mount joined the Ministry of Information at the outbreak of the Second World War. During the war years he worked with designer Eileen Evans, producing many posters for campaigns varying from security and salvage to road safety and the renowned anti-VD campaign of 1943-44.

The Mount/Evans studio in the 1950s and 60s, became closely associated with the post-war Central Office of Information, producing characteristically neat and precise designs for a wide variety of government agencies. Mount also designed the poster for the British comedy film The Ladykillers (1955) starring Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers.

On the reverse is the 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1955 Otto Preminger Drama THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN ARM, based on the novel by Nelson Algren and starring Frank Sinatra, Kim Novak, Eleanor Parker, Arnold Stang, Darren McGavin, Robert Strauss and John Conte.

The Advertisement is in very good condition with a vertical centre fold.
