BIG BROADCAST OF 1936

£79.50

Original 11 inch x 8 1/4 inch Portrait of WENDY BARRIE in the 1935 Norman Taurog Musical THE BIG BROADCAST OF 1936

Wendy Barrie’s big break was playing Jane Seymour in Alexander Korda’s THE PRIVATE LIFE OF HENRY VIII. Moving to Hollywood she featured in such classics as DEAD END & THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES. By the 1940s, her star had faded. This was partly due to bad publicity generated by her real-life role as mistress of notorious mobster Bugsy Siegel. She later started a successful new career as television host of her own pioneering talk-show, “Picture This” (1948-50).

The keybook portrait, on heavyweight paper, is in fine condition with 4 punch holes in the top blank border and a small green scuff in the her neck.
