BIG PARADE
£260.00
Original U.S. 12 3/4 inch x 25 inch Double-Sided MGM Advertisment for the 1925 King Vidor War Film THE BIG PARADE, based on the play by Joseph Farnham and the story by Laurence Stallings and starring John Gilbert, René Adorée and Hobart Bosworth. Produced by Irving Thalberg for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
Along with the earlier The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the slightly later Wings, THE BIG PARADE is one of the three great World War I films of the 1920s and the most financially successful. Made at a point when most producers believed the public only wanted to forget the horrors of World War I, THE BIG PARADE is generally regarded as the single greatest financially successful film of the entire silent era.
The advertisement is in fine condition with one vertical fold. The advertisement has been removed from a hardbound book entitled “MGM’s Parade of Hits’. Unfortunately the cover was so distressed that the advertisements needed to be removed to avoid staining.
