Original 6 inch x 8 1/4 inch Still of coach and horses in the 1945 Christian-Jaque Drama BOULE DE SUIF , based on a short story by Guy de Maupassant.
Photo by Lucienne Chevert (1911 – 1982). A French photographer and portrait photographer who worked in Paris with Sam Lévin in the Sam Lévin studio. Together they took two hundred and fifty thousand photographs in half a century. She was stills photographer on various films including “Sortilèges” (1944), “Boule de suif” (1945), “Quai des Orfèvres” (1947) where she inspired the character of the photographer Dora, “Le Salaire de la peur” (1952) and “Le Bonheur” (1965).
The still is in good condition with corner pinholes and slight creasing along the top.
