Original U.S. 27 inch x 41 inch 1-Sheet Poster for the 1972 Martin Scorsese Thriller BOXCAR BERTHA, based on the fictionalized autobiography of Bertha Thompson “Sister of the Road” by anarchist and physician Dr. Ben L. Reitman and starring Barbara Hershey, David Carradine, John Carradine, Barry Primus, Bernie Casey, Victor Argo and David Osterhout.
Producer Roger Corman gave Scorsese an early directorial opportunity – this was his second film.
A woman labour organizer (Hershey) in Arkansas during the violence-filled Depression of the early ‘30’s meets up with rabble-rousing union man ’Big’ Bill Shelly (David Carradine) and they team up to fight the corrupt railroad establishment.
The poster is in very good condition and has been conservation paper-backed.
