BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI

Original British 10 inch x 8 inch Black and White Still of DAVID LEAN on location for his 1957 World War II Drama THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI, based on a novel “Le Pont de la riviere Kwai” by Pierre Boulle.

British soldiers, held at a Japanese prisoner of war camp in Malaya in 1943, are ordered to bridge the Kwai river for the Burma-Siam railway.
