Original 10 inch x 7 3/4 inch Still of EMIL JANNINGS in the 1937 Gustav Ucicky & Emil Jannings German Comedy THE BROKEN JUG (DER ZERBROCHENE KRUG), based on the play by Heinrich von Kleist, with a screenplay by Thea von Harbou.
The judge (Jannings) is trying a case to determine who broke the jug. Long before the evidence becomes conclusive against the suspects, it becomes apparent that the blustering and bullying village judge is the guilty one.
The still is in very good condition with the Tobis production company logo in the lower right corner.
