Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Silkscreen Quad Poster for the 1956 Helmut Kautner Comedy THE CAPTAIN FROM KOPENICK (DER HAUPTMANN VON KOPENICK), based on the play by Carl Zuckmayer and starring Heinz Rühmann, Martin Held, Hannelore Schroth, Willy A. Kleinau, Walter Giller, Wolfgang Neuss, Joseph Offenbach, Bum Krüger, Maria Sebaldt, Edith Hancke, Siegfried Lowitz, Wolfgang Müller, Balduin Baas, Friedrich Domin, Reinhard Kolldehoff, Willy Maertens and Willi Rose.

Based on the true story of cobbler Wilhelm Voigt who dressed up as a German military officer and, with the help of unsuspecting soldiers, took over the city hall in Köpenick and confiscated the city’s purse.

The poster is in very good folded condition with a couple of edge nicks at the top edge.
