Clara Bow, (1905 – 1965) was an American motion-picture actress called the “It” Girl after she played in “It” (1927), the popular silent-film version of Elinor Glyn’s novel of that name. She personified the vivacious, emancipated flapper of the 1920s. From 1927 to 1930 she was one of the top five Hollywood box-office attractions.
