Original Polish 26 inch x 38 inch Poster for the 1979 Andrzej Wajda Drama THE CONDUCTOR (DYRYGENT) starring John Gielgud, Krystyna Janda, Andrzej Seweryn and Jan Ciercieski..

Gielgud went to Poland to make this allegorical art film with director Wajda. He plays an old conductor who returns from America to his birthplace where he revivifies the orchestra and strains the marriage of a young violinist (Janda) and her conductor husband (Seweryn).

Poster art by Edward Lutczyn. Born in 1947 Lutczyn was a graduate of Cracow Mining and Metallurgy Academy. He is an illustrator, cartoonist and poster designer.
