Original 10 inch x 8 inch Still for the 1943 Carl Theodor Dreyer Danish Drama DAY OF WRATH (VREDENS DAG), based on the Norwegian play”Anne Pedersdotter” by Hans Wiers-Jenssen and starring Thorkild Roose, Lisbeth Movin, Sigrid Neiiendam, Preben Lerdorff, Anna Svierkier, Olaf Ussing, and Albert Hoeberg.

Dreyer’s second sound film is a formally constructed tableau (based on 17th-century Dutch paintings) studying suspicion and witchcraft in the 1620s.

The still, on double weight paper, is in very good condition with the Palladium productions logo in the lower left corner.
