Original 9 1/2 inch x 7 1/2 inch Still
DIAMOND CITY
£79.50
Original 9 1/2 inch x 7 1/2 inch Still of DIANA DORS dancing the Can-Can in the 1949 David MacDonald Adventure DIAMOND CITY, from an original screen story by Roger Bray.
As the barmaid Dora Bracken, the teenage Diana Dors makes the most of one of her biggest roles to date, a part that required her to sing, dance, play the piano, brawl and banter with an otherwise almost entirely male crowd. She pulls this off with surprising conviction despite complaining later that “at seventeen, I was trying to play a hardbitten belle of about thirty. I looked like a little girl dressed up in her mother’s clothes.”
The photo is by Dennis Reed.
The still is in very good condition with a synopsis tacked to the reverse. The wavy line at lower right is within the image.
