DIVORCE OF LADY X

£99.50

Original British 17 inch x 11 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1937 Tim Whelan Comedy THE DIVORCE OF LADY X, based on the story “Counsel’s Opinion” by Gilbert Wakefield and starring Merle Oberon, Laurence Olivier, Binnie Barnes, Ralph Richardson, Morton Selten, Gus McNaughton, Edward Lexy, Hugh McDermott, Michael Rennie and Patricia Roc.

The tale of a young woman who sets out to bring a pompous lawyer (Laurence Olivier) down a peg by letting him think she’s a client’s cheating wife offered her a rare comic showcase, though the film’s Technicolor cinematography often allowed her beauty and her glamorous costumes to upstage her.
