ESTHER WATERS

Original 10 inch x 7 3/4 inch Still of KATHLEEN RYAN & DIRK BOGARDE in the 1948 Ian Dalrymple & Peter Proud Drama ESTHER WATERS, based on the novel by George Moore.

Cocky liveryman William Latch (Bogarde) seduces Esther Waters (Ryan) who then takes off with his employer’s daughter but eventually tries to make amends.

Portrait by Max Rosher. Born in Nottingham in 1889 Rosher also worked as stills photographer for Michael Powell’s BLACK NARCISSUS and I KNOW WHERE I’M GOING.

The still is in very good condition with a brief synopsis tacked to the reverse.
