Statue of a falconer, nude save for a cloth tucked into a belt around his waist, standing with the falcon perched on the glove on his raised left hand, his right holding the neck of a heron beside him.

Engraving by William Thomas Fry (1789 – 1843). Engraver of portraits and figures.

From the sculpture by John Edward Carew (1785 – 1868). An Irish sculptor whose most prominent work is the Death of Nelson – one of the four bronze panels on the pedestal of Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square.
