The portrait is by Ted Reed.
Sonia Dresdel is best remembered in her role as Mrs. Baines, the housekeeper of a foreign embassy in London, in this film version of Graham Greene’s The Fallen Idol (1948), which also starred Ralph Richardson, Michèle Morgan and Bobby Henrey.
The portrait is in very good condition with minor surface marks.
