4 Original U.S. 11 inch x 14 inch Lobby Cards for the 1959 Melville Shavelson Musical THE FIVE PENNIES, suggested by the life of Loring ‘Red’ Nichols, Jazz cornet player and leader of Red Nichols and His Five Pennies and starring Danny Kaye as Red Nichols, Barbara Bel Geddes, Louis Armstrong, Harry Guardino, Bob Crosby, Bobby Troup, Susan Gordon, Tuesday Weld, Ray Anthony, Shelly Manne, Ray Daley, Valerie Allen, Cindy Carol, Trummy Young, Billy Kyle, ‘Peanuts’ Hucko, Danny Barcelona, Joe Venuti, Curtis Counce and Clyde Hurley.

Dixieland cornetist Red Nichols runs into opposition to his sound, but breaks through to success. He marries a warm, patient woman and even finds time to raise a family. Then tragedy strikes when their daughter contracts polio.
