Original 10 inch x 8 inch Black and White Still of JIMMY HANLEY, RENE RAY, JOYCE GRENFELL, BASIL RADFORD, A.E. MATTHEWS & HUGH GRIFFITH in the 1951 Henry Cornelius Comedy THE GALLOPING MAJOR, written by Monja Danischewsky, Henry Cornelius & Basil Radford.
The title is taken from the song “The Galloping Major”, and the plot was centred on gambling at the horse racing track. People in a London suburb form a syndicate to buy a race horse to run in the Grand National but they accidentally buy the wrong horse. The horse is useless on the flat, so they decide to enter him as a jumper.
The still is in very good condition with minor surface marks and a brief synopsis taped to the reverse.
