Original 10 inch x 8 inch Still of a dresser adjusting a hoop skirt for one of the chorus ‘playing’ the violin in the Shadow Waltz number featured in the 1933 Mervyn LeRoy & Busby Berkeley Musical GOLD DIGGERS OF 1933, based on the play by Avery Hopwood.
The film was made in 1933, during the Great Depression and contains numerous direct references to it. It begins with a rehearsal for a stage show, which is interrupted by the producer’s creditors who close down the show because of unpaid bills.
The still is in very good condition. Reverse side blank.
