Original British 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1953 George More O’Ferrall Drama THE HEART OF THE MATTER, based on the novel by Graham Greene and starring Trevor Howard, Elizabeth Allan, Maria Schell, Denholm Elliott, Gérard Oury, Peter Finch, George Coulouris, Michael Hordern, Earl Cameron, Judith Furse, John Glyn-Jones, Colin Gordon and Orlando Martins.
Howard is ideally cast as the Sierra Leone cop who has a fling with Austrian girl Schell in his wife’s absence and is then troubled by both his Catholic conscience and a blackmailer.
