Original 10 inch x 8 inch Portrait of PHYLLIS CALVERT in the 1944 Arthur Crabtree Melodrama MADONNA OF THE SEVEN MOONS, based on the novel by Margery Lawrence.

A wild Gainsborough melodrama set in Italy. It begins as a comparatively sedate tale about a respectable, convent-raised woman (Phyllis Calvert) who is haunted by the memory of being raped as a teenager. But when her grown daughter returns from school, her life begins to unravel in monumentally surprising ways.

The portrait is in very good condition with a few corner pinholes.
