Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1975 Ingmar Bergman Film Version of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Opera THE MAGIC FLUTE (TROLLFLOJTEN), based on the libretto by Emanuel Schikaneder and starring Josef Köstlinger as Tamino, Britt-Marie Aruhn, Birgitta Smiding, Kirsten Vaupel, Håkan Hagegård as Papageno, Birgit Nordin, Irma Urrila as Pamina, Ragnar Ulfung as Monostatos, Ulrik Cold as Sarastro and Elisabeth Erikson as Papagena.

Bergman lovingly recreated the baroque theatre of Sweden’s Drottningholm Palace to stage the story of the prince Tamino and his zestful sidekick Papageno, who are sent on a mission to save a beautiful princess from the clutches of evil.
