Original British 27 inch x 40 inch Advance 1-Sheet Poster for the 1992 Spike Lee Biopic MALCOLM X, based on the book by Malcolm X & Alex Haley and starring Denzel Washington, Spike Lee, Angela Bassett, Christopher Plummer, Albert Hall, Al Freeman Jr., Delroy Lindo and Theresa Randle.

A tribute to the controversial black activist and leader of the struggle for black liberation. He hit bottom during his imprisonment in the ’50s, he became a Black Muslim and then a leader in the Nation of Islam. His assassination in 1965 left a legacy of self-determination and racial pride.

Art Sims (born 1954) is an African-American graphic designer and art director born in Detroit, Michigan in 1954. Sims is well known for his poster designs for classic African-American films, including Do the Right Thing (1998) and The Color Purple (1985). He is the CEO and co-founder of 11:24 Design Advertising in Los Angeles. Throughout his career, Sims has committed to promoting and making visible African-American art and culture.
Sims has worked with filmmakers such as Steven Spielberg, Jon Kilik, George Lucas, John Singleton, and Spike Lee. He’s also designed posters for “Clockers” (1995), “Girl 6” (1996), “Jungle Fever” (1991), “Malcolm X” (1992), “New Jack City” (1991), “Mo’ Better Blues” (1990) and “Crooklyn” (1994).

The poster is in very good unfolded (rolled) condition.
